USPTO Fees Increase Sept. 26

Beginning September 26, 2011, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) will increase the fees it charges for most of its services. In most cases, the fees will increase by about 15 percent. In some cases the change will add hundreds of dollars in added fees. For instance, the maintenance fee for a patent at 7.5 years will cost an extra $370 beginning next week.

Owners of patents and trademarks may want to act now in order to take advantage of the current fee schedule. If you would like to accelerate payment of any USPTO fees prior to the implementation of these changes, please contact your Boyle Fredrickson attorney.
