Boyle Fredrickson Sponsors Make48

Make48 is an intense, two-day innovation challenge.  Teams receive a challenge on Friday evening and have 48 hours to not only think of a solution to the challenge, but also develop a prototype and a marketing pitch to sell their solution.  The prototype and marketing pitch are presented Sunday evening to a panel of judges.  At the end of the 48 hours, one team is declared the winner of the challenge.

The Make48 crew coordinates a Makerspace at which each team has access to a host of volunteers that collaborate with each team to develop the prototype.  From woodworkers, machinists, welders, graphic designers, CAD support, and even attorneys, each team receives advice and assistance as needed to bring their solution from the idea stage to prototype.

This summer, attorneys from Boyle Fredrickson provided support at events in Milwaukee and Madison.  Eric Schlevensky and Brad Meyer volunteered at the Milwaukee event while Keith Baxter and Geoffrey Behr volunteered at the Madison event.  The attorneys answered questions and conducted preliminary patent and trademark searches for the teams.

Each event is turned into a half-hour production broadcast on This Old House Makers Channel (Roku Channel #458).  Sizzle videos previewing each event are included below.  The full episodes will air on February 22, 2023.  Tune in to find out who wins each of the competitions and receives an invitation to participate in a national Make48 event.
